Job Summary and Qualifications

The Monitor Technician is responsible for the observation of patient monitoring systems, including cardiac monitoring and pulse oximetry for a select group of patients at StoneCrest The MT is competent in arrhythmia recognition, interpretation and notification. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice, and maintains a safe environment. Participates in performance improvement activities as directed. Provides input and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

What expectations are asked of a Monitor Tech?

-Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies listed on the competency validation checklist(s).

-Ensures the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI).

-Meets mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives as listed on the Performance Management Plan.

-Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures.

-Documents all patient rhythms.

-Promotes customer service initiatives.

-Promotes and exhibits teamwork.

-Completes mandatory education timely

-Complies with hospital policies/procedures and patient safety initiatives.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Prior experience as a Monitor Technician or successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Course.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
