Position Summary Information
Position Summary
Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full time Temporary Instructor in the department of Languages, Literatures, Cultures & Writing to teach beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish language and cultures courses during the 25-26 academic year.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Spanish Languages, Literatures and/or Cultures. Native or near native ability in Spanish and English. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to students, to the education of diverse population, to the promotion of world cultures & languages, and to service at the department, university and community level. Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration are also required.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Spanish Languages and Cultures or related field in hand at the time semester starts. We seek the following qualities in the successful candidate: commitment to diversity, extensive knowledge of Hispanic cultures and the Spanish language, proven record of engagement in the profession, evidence of enthusiasm for teaching and institutional service. Evidence of effective online teaching and strong interest/record in recruiting new students, plus a record of engaging students beyond the classroom.
