Job Description
We are now hiring a Microbiology Supervisor to join our team in Manorhamilton Road, Sligo. This person will be responsible for the microbiology for the site, leading a team. The Microbiology Supervisor ensures effective microbiological services, overseeing environmental monitoring of site utilities and manufacturing areas, along with microbiological testing of materials and products. This person will also be part of the Centre of Excellence for Microbiology for AbbVie Ireland.
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine and non-routine microbiological tests and ensure compliance with data integrity policies and regulations.
Develop and update microbiological procedures for materials, products, and environmental monitoring.
Train laboratory and production staff in microbiological procedures.
Maintain comprehensive records of tests and ensure timely testing of samples.
Lead microbiological investigations and report on trends.
Supervise direct reports, set goals, manage performance, and develop the team.
Handle day-to-day microbiological and environmental issues; escalate major issues to the Laboratory Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in microbiology or a related science field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Pharma manufacturing and QC environment.
Demonstrated leadership experience with 2 years experience managing a team
Expertise in aseptic processes and experience in GMP laboratory settings.
Strong problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Leadership skills to guide and influence the QC Microbiology team.
