The Facility Manager - EHS is responsible for facility management for our EMEA headquarters in Gent, following up and implementing Health & Safety regulations in Belgium and fleet management in EMEA, and will be located in Gent, Belgium (hybrid; 4 days on site).

Your key Responsibilities:

Facility Management:

  • Serve as the primary contact owner and follow up on outstanding building issues .

  • Oversee the daily management of facilities , ensuring smooth operations and maintenance incl. management of our outsourced on-site associate restaurant.

  • Manage relationships with facility service providers , including contract negotiations and performance evaluations.

  • Implement sustainable facility practices to enhance environmental performance (e.g., energy efficiency, waste management, carbon footprint reduction).

  • Maintain emergency response plans and crisis management procedures.

Safety & Security:

  • Participate in CPBW (Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work) meetings and implement relevant policies.

  • Assist associates with ergonomic workplace solutions to promote safety and well-being.

  • Organize annual health check-ups and medical examinations, including eye tests and flu vaccinations .

  • Manage and coordinate fire brigade and first aid teams, ensuring proper training, compliance, and emergency preparedness.

  • Ensure the facility complies with all local and international safety regulations .

Fleet Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact and liaison for Esko’s outsourced fleet management provider in Belgium, ensuring service quality, contract compliance, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Oversee the outsourced provider’s compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards for Esko’s vehicles in Belgium .

  • Directly manage the fleet operations for company vehicles in EMEA outside Belgium , including vehicle allocation, cost control, and compliance with local regulations .

  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, sustainability strategies, and efficiency improvements for the company’s entire fleet.

  • Provide driver support across regions, ensuring smooth fleet operations and policy adherence.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in facility management, safety, or fleet operations.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English (French is a plus).

  • Level 2 Prevention Advisor Certification (Preventieadviseur)

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental policies, and workplace ergonomics .

  • First Aid and Fire Safety Certification

  • Experience in supplier management and contract negotiations .

  • Crisis management skills and ability to handle emergency situations effectively.
