Group Function Overview - Payments & Correspondent Banking Services (PCBS) is a rapidly evolving and dynamic place to work for highly motivated professionals looking to make an impact. We balance over $5 Trillion worth of payments daily and process approximately 6 million transactions annually. The Operations team is a fast-paced multifaceted team operating 22 hours a day, 5 days a week providing outstanding service to the Bank's Internal Partners as well as other Global Financial Institutions

Team Overview

In Singapore, there are 3 components in PCBS:

Wire Payment Operation (CLS - Continuous Link Settlement) is responsible for the monitoring of TD SWIFT Gateway for not only Canada, but all TD Offices outside of Canada. TD acts as a Third Party Clearer for Canadian (CAD) dollar Continuous Link Settlement (CLS) trades daily with Partner Banks. This team will liaise daily with each global partner bank while providing world class customer service representing TD. In addition, this team is also responsible for the review of all wire payments for Retail, Commercial, Wealth, Corporate and wholesale clients.

Payment Investigation & Helpdesk will partner with Correspondent Banking Clients as well as internal lines of businesses including Global Transaction Banking (GTB), Business Bank, Retail Bank, Wealth, Fraud, Sanctions, Global Anti-Money Laundering, and TRIMIS to ensure customer's money reaches its final destination or help retrieve funds if customer falls victim to fraud. The team is also responsible for collaborating with business partners and providing subject matter expertise for important projects such as the SWIFT Global Payment Initiative (GPI), implementation of Wire Payment Automated Fraud Detection application and the migration of retail branch Wire Payments to the Money-In Service Advisory (MISA) team.

Message Filter Group is responsible of screening of SWIFT messages (both incoming and outgoing) against sanctions regulatory list and internal monitoring list. The team will conduct investigation on all messages blocked by filter.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of SWIFT messages held by Sanction Screening platform and follow up with Sanction Screening Governance team to release the SWIFT messages timely

  • Provide first point of contact support for email and/or SWIFT and ensure all queries from both internal and external clients are responded in a timely and professional manner

  • Support SWIFT Gateway operations and CLS / payments processing

  • Review the format of payments which do not qualify for straight through processing and provide recommendations on correct formatting to conform with SWIFT Standards as the end goal of increasing the rate of STP

  • Partner with others in the organization to advise on and support wire payments operations and the end-to-end completion of wires with 100% accuracy

  • Investigate payments messages that have issues within the payment process and ensure all investigation are monitored, follow up and resolved

  • Process and perform verification for investigation cases with high accuracy and with minimal supervision

  • Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.

  • Report / escalate risk issues identified or process gaps

  • Assist in UAT, BCP testing and other ad-hoc projects

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3+ years of professional and relevant experience

  • Strong understanding of SWIFT messages

  • Knowledge of international sanctions and compliance policies would be a plus

  • Proven customer service skills

  • Risk awareness and attention to details / meticulous and strong follow-up skills

  • Time management and ability to prioritize effectively based on risk / time criticality of the tasks required

  • Highly driven and ability to work under pressure in a time sensitive environment

  • Innovative mindset and ability to enhance processes to minimize risk and increase efficiency

  • Flexibility to work during public holidays (details to be discussed during interviews)

  • Working hours: 11am – 7.30pm / 12pm – 8.30pm
