Management Information Specialist

Provide data-related expertise to the business in support of its operations, decision making capabilities and business growth. This will be largely achieved through the use of management information software, data processing and presentation software.

Main scope includes:

Management Information (MI) Reporting

  • Maintain MI reports (changes, refinement, personalization etc) to support finance, business operations and management;

  • Create new MI reports/publications where required to satisfy ad-hoc requests and to support the new system rollout in Asia;

  • Manage report distribution schedules;

  • Assist to monitor data quality;

  • Liaise with operations and system teams to resolve data quality issues.

MI Data Operations

  • Analyse user requirements for reports;

  • Draft requests for new data objects for reporting;

  • Monitor & test newly released data objects and feedback to the data team;

  • Assist to resolve data related issues with the data team.

Business Support

  • Engage Ops/Finance/Admin colleagues to resolve data-related queries;

  • Familiarity with internal systems is required;

  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of data-related services to clients (e.g. claims listings, SLA reports etc);

  • Assist with data visualizations using SAP Business Objects, Power BI, or other software that the company may deploy.

Other

  • Assist and support the team on any assigned projects and initiatives;

  • Other such reasonable duties within the general scope of the job title, at the Manager’s discretion.

Main requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences, engineering, technology or finance is preferred;

  • At least 1 year of experience in the general insurance industry or management information reporting;

  • Excel skills and fluency at pivot tables;

  • Data visualisation using either Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent software;

  • Experience using enterprise reporting tools is preferred e.g SAP Business Objects, Cognos etc;

  • Systematic problem solver, good planner, and a clear communicator;

  • Good team player;

  • Analytical and intense attention to detail;

  • Sense of ownership/ pride in own work;

  • Good time management;

  • Committed to continuous learning.
