The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) is a seasoned engineering role, responsible for providing a service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and problems.
Through pre-emptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices, and quality assurance this role will maintain a high level of service to clients.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions. The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) is responsible for managing tickets of high complexity, conducts advanced and complicated tasks, and provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.
This position uses considerable judgment and independent analysis within defined policies and practices and applies analytical thinking and deep technical expertise in achieving client outcomes, while coaching and mentoring junior team members across functions.
The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L3) focusses across two or more technology domains such as (but not limited to) Cloud, Security, Networking, Applications and / or Collaboration and may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.
What you'll be doing
Manage and maintain a 5000+ users environment consisting of Microsoft 365 (M365) or Exchange 2016.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain M365 services, systems, and processes, including monitoring system health and performance.
Provide production support for the Microsoft 365 environment.
Perform daily tasks to ensure the stability and optimization of the M365 environment, including proactively identifying potential issues, collaborating with team members to decide on resolutions, and implementing agreed-upon solutions.
Troubleshoot M365 service outages as they occur, including after hours and weekends.
Practical knowledge of SMTP routing, Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, Mail Routing, M365 and SMTP Troubleshooting, IIS (Internet Information Services) Administration, Troubleshooting, Application Mail Relay, Disaster Recovery concepts, and Patch Management.
Administer Microsoft Teams, Intune, OneDrive and provide end-user support.
Provide support, including monitoring server performance and availability, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements.
Experience in managing mail hygiene applications/tools such as ProofPoint, TrendMicro, or MimeCast.
Day-to-day administration, maintenance, and operations.
Perform weekly standby duties for change requests and incidents.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong background in Microsoft 365 Administration.
More than 8 years of experience in a Microsoft 365 or Exchange Server administration role.
Experience implementing \migrating more than 10000 users from Exchange on prem to M365.
In-depth understanding of Active Directory administration, structure, permissions, and best practices.
Experience with patch management and monitoring using tools such as SCOM.
Ability to perform under pressure; experienced in a rapid growth IT environment.
Strong communication and documentation skills and enjoys working in a team environment.
