How you’ll contribute

Reporting to the Vice President of tax, in this role, you will lead the global tax provision process and ensure the accuracy of all tax disclosures in the financial statements. You will be responsible for all federal, state, and foreign direct and indirect tax compliance processes. This individual receives support from 2 direct reports, as well as external advisers.

  • Lead the global provision for income taxes pursuant to ASC 740 for domestic and foreign subsidiaries

  • Ensure that the company’s income tax provision and balance sheet tax accounts are properly stated in publicly reported quarterly and annual financial statements, including the tax footnote, disclosures, and required supporting documentation

  • Maintain tax-related Sarbanes-Oxley 404 documentation and work with internal/external auditors to ensure that internal controls related to the Tax Department are complete, properly documented, and updated as necessary

  • Lead the US federal, state, and foreign income tax compliance processes ensuring that reporting requirements for all jurisdictions are met

  • Responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and foreign indirect taxes, including sales & use, personal property, value-added, goods & services, and excise taxes

  • Monitor and evaluate US tax risks and opportunities

  • Monitor and analyze tax regulatory and compliance requirements as well as tax and accounting law changes; determine the impact to the company and communicate relevant information to key stakeholders

  • Collaborate effectively with external consultants on tax projects and tax issues and manage the tax budget for third-party adviser support

  • Continually review the company’s existing approach to federal, state, and foreign tax work streams to identify efficiencies and implement process improvements

  • Responsible for tax-related special projects including coordination with the tax planning team, research, transfer pricing studies, modeling of tax implications, impacts of transactions, etc.

  • Direct and manage direct report(s) to include responsibilities for training, goal setting & achievement, performance evaluations/management, coaching, mentoring, career development and provide support for recruitment process (as needed)

  • All other duties as required

For this role you will need

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related study and at least 10 years of direct field experience in tax provision and tax compliance OR a Master’s Degree in Accounting or a related study with at least 8 years of direct field experience in tax provision and tax compliance.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience with large, multi-national corporations subject to SEC reporting requirements

  • Must have at least 3 years of people management and development experience

  • Experience with sophisticated ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically adept in Excel

  • Written and oral communication skills to interface with internal and external personnel worldwide

  • Ability to pivot and adapt as needed to meet business objectives

  • Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

  • Effectve reporting and presentation skills

  • Demonstrates organizational skills and effective time-management

  • Capable of successfully handling various ad hoc tasks

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field

  • Experience in a 'Big 4' or regional accounting firm experience
