Job Title: Manager Medical Staff Services/ Medical Education

General Summary:

Develop and enhance relationships between Holy Cross Health and its Medical Staff, thereby promoting greater utilization of Holy Cross Health services through enhanced communications, marketing and problem identification and resolution; to coordinate programs and strategies, which will benefit the physician and his staff; and to supervise the Medical Staff Services and Medical Education Departments.

Assures that the Medical Staff Services and Medical Education Department areas function in an efficient and effective manner according to the organization’s mission, goals and objectives, recognized standards, accrediting and regulatory requirements. Exercises considerable discretion and confidentiality. Develops, monitors and controls the manpower, direct expense and capital budgets for assigned cost centers.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior

Responsible for program management and interdepartmental relationships. Resource for all physician inquires for Holy Cross Health.

Responsible for assuring that all employees strictly adhere to all measures necessary for compliance with hospital safety polices and applicable federal, state and agency safety-related requirements and regulations.

Provides oversight and direction for continuing medical education in accordance with Trinity Health Accreditation

Leads, plans and manages all CE learning activities for Holy Cross Health.

Serves as liaison to all medical schools and residency affiliates and other educational partners.

Plans and actively participates in all Medical School site visits

Guides development and or provides input to Medical Staff Services and Medical Education policy changes.

Supports the Mission of CHE Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required (if applicable):

  • Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (CMSC) preferred

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline. Registered Nurse preferred.

  • Five years’ health care experience with extensive physician contact required.

  • Three years of managerial experience is required.

  • Knowledge of hospital operations, physician practice operation, health care delivery trends and managed care.

  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and analytic skills.
