Job Summary
The Vascular Ultrasonographer performs diagnostic non-invasive vascular examinations utilizing advanced ultrasound techniques. The purpose of this role is to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of various vascular conditions by providing high-quality imaging and preliminary analysis. This position requires a deep understanding of vascular anatomy and hemodynamics, as well as proficiency in operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment. The Technologist will work closely with patients, ensuring comfort and safety while obtaining accurate diagnostic data.
Essential Functions
Collects pertinent clinical history from schedule, diagnostic request forms, and the patient.
Correlates patient history with the type of exam and checks the patient's file for previous studies.
Answers any questions the patient might have concerning the procedure.
Records all pertinent anatomy and pathology in the required protocol set forth by the physician that will interpret the procedure.
Process the completed procedure and collect all patient files.
Present patient clinical history and findings to physician for acceptance of the exam.
Reports to director information detrimental to effective functioning of the department.
Assures standards set forth by regulatory agencies are met.
Active on selected committees for the purpose of exchanging information and participating in performance improvement.
Attends staff meetings, providing input and evaluation into unit strategic plans, operations and performances improvement.
Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Associate Degree Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology preferred or
Associate Degree Graduate of an Accredited Sonography program required required or
0-1 years Clinical experience in Vascular Sonography procedures required
2-4 years Clinical experience in Vascular Sonography procedures preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Expertise in operating ultrasound equipment and related technology
Comprehensive understanding of vascular anatomy and cross-sectional anatomy
Conduct radiographic procedures autonomously, without ongoing supervision
Produce and evaluate ultrasound images and data to ensure accuracy for physician diagnosis
Maintain and order supplies and equipment necessary for radiographic procedures
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members
Capability to troubleshoot equipment issues and adapt to different patient needs
Knowledge of safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure and prevent injuries
Licenses and Certifications
RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist registered by ARMDS required or
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registry in VS required or
RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer registered by CCI required
BCLS - Basic Life Support required
