Here’s the Gist: 

Wolfspeed's Equipment Maintenance team is seeking Senior Shift Supervisors to oversee the installation and startup of production equipment at our upcoming Siler City, NC location. Shift Supervisors will provide leadership in installing production equipment in a manner that meets company standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime after turnover to production. The individuals in these roles will oversee a team of technicians that install and startup the production and test equipment while establishing and maintaining safe environments, a fast-paced schedule and the procedures used to install and startup. Shift Supervisors will work with departmental trainers to ensure they have the needed resources for the team. 

This posting is for four positions that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The individuals in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially and will transition to the new site in Siler City once ready (estimated for this role to be March 2024).

Shift Supervisors will support a 12-hour manufacturing day or night shift on a Front End or Back End shift pattern. We are filling one position per shift:

• Front End Days (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday)

• Front End Nights (Every other Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday)

• Back End Days (Every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

• Back End Nights (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, every other Saturday)

 The Day-to-Day: 

• Foster a safety-first mindset  

• Manage the installation, startup, and repair of manufacturing equipment in a fast paced manufacturing area 

• Interface with the Process Engineering team to ensure we are installing tools at a pace that meet the demand of the business. 

• Screen and select candidates for the Equipment team to fulfill ramp and attrition requirements 

• Manage area budget goals 

• Support and influence 5S methodology, ensuring the workplace is clean, uncluttered, safe and well organized to reduce waste and optimize productivity 

• Work closely with process engineering and production staff to improve overall quality metrics for the fab, SPC, Scrap, Rework, and cost reduction from a new tool install perspective 
    

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements): 

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical management field or equivalent military experience is preferred 

• 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing support/repair services 

• A demonstrated background of success in a management role 

• Prior semiconductor manufacturing experience is preferred 

• Must be willing to work a 12-hour manufacturing schedule
