Group Summary

About the Role

Some of the core functions of this position are to supervise and coordinate day to day assignments and project management with the quality engineering team. Acting as support for the Quality Manager and assume all responsibilities as assigned. Interfacing with the customer and onsite representative, assuring any feedback is worked through at our plant. Ensuring the plant quality operating system is properly addressing issues through fast response, layered Paynter charts and quality mapping. Using a data driven approach to measure key process characteristics to assure business plan and quality objectives can be met.

Your Responsibilities

  • Quality Engineer and performance management (Supervise, Monitor, Direct, Engage, Train/Develop, Etc.).

  • Monitor incoming and outgoing Quality levels through various "Measurables."

  • Conduct capability studies, collecting variable data, input of data in computer software, and accurately interpret results.

  • Participate on teams as directed and focus on continuous improvement.

  • Effectively interface with all levels of Magna Employees as well as suppliers and customer representatives.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Who we are looking for

  • Requires Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality related field (or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in a Quality Engineering role).

  • Strong leadership and team building kills

  • Minimum 2 years in Supervisory position with direct responsibility for staff.

  • Must be proficient with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

  • Superior verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, management, employees, customers, and corporate personnel.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Previous automotive manufacturing experience highly preferred.
