Little Creek Casino Resort Golf Course Lead Mechanic in Shelton, Washington

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as our Golf Course Lead Mechanic. In this role, you'll be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment and machinery in the turf department and related areas, as well as providing support to the property (club house and recreation center) in areas of related expertise (i.e. golf carts, electronics, etc.). This includes meeting established safety standards and adherence to the respective equipment owner's manual specifications to maintain the proper working order and longevity of all equipment and machinery. With your expertise, you will help keep our golf course in top-notch condition and ensure that our players have a safe and enjoyable experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, and tools following operations manuals and manufacturers instructions; assisting clubhouse maintenance and cart mechanic with fabrications as needed; adjusting reels and back lap reels.
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipts.
  • Oversee shop area maintenance by ensuring that shop remains clean and orderly; tools are kept clean and in proper working condition.
  • Ensure success of operations by obtaining event information from all departments in order to follow through with special maintenance requirements and requests.
  • Maintain continuity of service by acting as go-to person in resolving escalated maintenance issues; providing training, direction and evaluating the work of other maintenance mechanics.
  • Ability to make fabrications or alterations to new or existing equipment to insure proper working order and efficiency.
  • Daily communication with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding the status and condition of all turf equipment.
  • Assists in the training of team members for the proper use of equipment and machinery.
  • Implements methods and procedures designed to minimize operational costs and maximize resources to insure the proper working order and longevity of each piece of equipment.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies including fuel and oil levels.

* Must be capable of diagnosing and making informed repairs and/or maintenance of, but not limited to:*

  • Engines
  • Tractors (gas or diesel)
  • Hydraulics
  • Electronics
  • Tools or equipment (i.e. blowers, weed eaters, chain saws, reels, bed-knives, etc.)
  • Must be able to prioritize work schedule to allow timely completion of repairs and preventative maintenance to insure golf course quality standards are achieved.

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 yrs. proficiency working as Golf Course Mechanic.
  • At least one year management experience. 
  • Thorough understanding and ability to operate all pieces of turf equipment.
  • Thorough understanding for mechanical operations of engines, electrical systems and hydraulics.
  • Ability to follow company policy/procedures, complying with all administrative responsibilities.
  • Class II Gaming License - obtained upon hire (must be able to pass a background check).
  • Valid Washington State Drivers License.
