Description
Performs a variety of detailed clerical and office tasks requiring knowledge of court functions and procedures. In all court matters, accuracy and efficiency are critical as even the slightest error or omission in processing, indexing, posting, filing and disbursement of funds may affect the life and/or property of members of the public.
Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Any one position may not include all the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions of this class.) Processes cases, including filing, retrieving, preparing and processing court related documents and scheduling of hearings. Prepares court calendars for civil, criminal, domestic and juvenile courts; prepares case files if needed for court sessions ensuring all case related information is available for court. Assists the public at the counter and over the telephone by answering questions and explaining court procedures and processes. Completes requests for documents and other information. Enters, modifies and retrieves a variety of information using the statewide information system. Collects and receipts payments for fees, fines and restitution in criminal matters as well as juvenile offender matters. Receipts funds for garnishments, judgments and new case filings. Processes warrants of arrest, abstracts of judgments, garnishments and all writs. Prepares court calendars and serves as Court Clerk and is present at court sessions on a more limited basis. The court Clerk takes minutes and records all proceedings, marks exhibit, processes orders of the court and all court documents. Prepares forms, reports, memos and letters. Receives, sorts, opens, date stamps, distributes incoming mail, and all other court related documents. Process data dissemination requests as authorized by the Clerk following all Court Rules and Statutes. Analyzes and extracts data from court files and state systems using extreme caution with respect to confidential data. Collects and receipts money for filing fees, criminal fines and fees, juvenile offender fines and fees and restitution for all criminal and juvenile cases. Regular, reliable and punctual attendance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
