Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
The Shelbyville facility is responsible for manufacturing toughened glass specifically for automotive applications. This facility utilizes 42 robotics that are primarily ABB, with some Fanuc. Other equipment includes Glasstech furnaces, Casso Solar ovens, presses, Bando cutting lines, multiple conveyor systems, and Keyence/Cognex vision systems. The facility is also in the process of phasing out legacy Texas Instrument PLCs and replacing them with newer PLCs.
Responsibilities
Design and oversee the build of control panels required for new projects
Create new control systems
Integrate and commission new and/or legacy equipment
Read and create electrical diagrams proficiently
Work in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
Program and design automated equipment
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience with PLCs (PLC-5, RSLogix500, and Studio5000)
Experience with Motion Control (AC/DC drives)
Experience with HMI (FactoryTalk View)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design
Additional Skills & Qualifications
AutoCAD Electrical experience
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Work Environment
This is a factory environment. The Controls Engineer will be on 1st shift, with negotiable hours Monday - Friday, but must be consistent. Occasional weekend work may be required. You will be expected to communicate well with second shift staff. The position offers a consistent Monday - Friday schedule with minimal overtime and no travel. The consultant will be provided 40 hours of PTO and 6 paid holidays through the contract duration.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $50.48/hr.
