Quality Care Rehabilitation Professionals, Inc US DOL Registered Behavioral Health Aide Apprentice/Behavior Technician in Shelby Township, Michigan

If you have thought about wanting to work with individuals who have autism but don't know where to start, Quality Care Rehabilitation Professionals (dba Quality Care Rehab & Autism Center) can offer you a career working in mental health care! Our Behavior Health Aide Apprenticeship Program is registered and approved through the US Department of Labor.

Through our partnership with Macomb Community College, participants will have the opportunity to work full time as a Behavior Technician while completing 147 hours of flexible classroom instruction through the college. Required coursework will be provided at no cost to the apprentice, and all work performed at Quality Care will be paid. Upon completion of the registered apprenticeship program, participants will earn a nationally recognized Behavior Health Aide certification in addition to all necessary preparation and support needed to obtain your nationally recognized Registered Behavior Technician certification.

  • Quality Care is looking for individuals willing to provide services at 2 clinic locations in Macomb County, located in Shelby Township and in Clinton Township.
  • Hours of Operation for both clinics are: Monday-Friday, from 8:30am-7:30pm, and Saturdays between 9:00am-5:00pm.
  • Must have a current and valid drivers license, reliable transportation and be willing to travel to both clinic locations.
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
  • Periodic and annual performance reviews are conducted with eligibility for merit increases and opportunities for advancement.
  • Must be able to work a minimum 3 evening shifts until 7:30pm.

Summary of Essential Functions

  • Working one on one with children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder;
  • Teaching skills involving language and social skills, fine and gross motor, relaxation, play, and ADLs;
  • Maintaining a fun and interactive environment that is clean and organized;
  • Building strong, lasting relationships with clients and families;
  • Documenting behaviors and collecting data;
  • Fostering a warm, inclusive environment for staff and families;
  • Working collaboratively as a team with other departments, including Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy.

Quality Care Rehab and Autism Center has successfully been providing outpatient Physical, Occupational, Speech and ABA therapy services in Clinton Township since 2003. Each patient has a customized therapy plan created to help work towards their highest level of independent function.
