All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box 3 & 4, page 1. Workers are needed to plant, trellis, maintain and harvest blueberry, aronia, raspberry, elderberry, blackberry, and wine grapes. Workers will use hand and power tools such as but not limited to shovels, hoes, pruners, irrigation pumps and chainsaws. Workers must have the knowledge of soil tillage and the ability to apply fertilizers and pesticides and operate and repair farm machinery. Workers will perform other activities related to production of crops. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather ranging from extremely cold in the spring and fall to hot, humid summer days. Workers may operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Driver\'s license is required. Work is physically demanding requiring workers to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time. Workers must have ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers must be available to work Saturday. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform duties assigned. Workers may require to work 7.5 hours shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm Monday through Friday. Workers will be given a 30-minute lunch break and a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon. Beginning and ending times may vary depending upon weather and crop conditions. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English.
