West Fork Community School District School Social Worker in Sheffield, Iowa
West Fork CSD and Belmond-Klemme CSD in north central Iowa are looking to hire a Shared School Social Worker. As a School Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing a range of support services to students, families, and school staff to promote academic success and emotional well-being. You will assess students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs, develop intervention plans, and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support. Additionally, you will advocate for students and families, provide crisis intervention when necessary, and participate in school-wide initiatives to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.State licensure or certification as a School Social Worker (meets Iowa's requirements).
- Strong understanding of child development, behavioral interventions, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse students, families, and staff members.
- Knowledge of community resources and agencies providing social services.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in social work practice.
