Scope

• Develop and execute a global Indirect Procurement roadmap that builds the capabilities needed for short, mid and long-term growth and sustainability including spend analytics, category management, sourcing methodology, tools and templates, policies and procedures, supplier management program, resources adaptation for the APAC region across all indirect categories

• Stewardship and deployment of the company’s procurement strategies defined in collaboration with GCM teams; identifying and executing operational process improvement initiatives; and, ensuring excellence in category management throughout all sites in APAC region

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Indirect Procurement Team and help transforming the Indirect procurement organization

• Responsible for the overall saving performance for the APAC region, Vendors Reduction plan, PR/PO, Pcard, e-catalogue, MSA coverage, entities spend covered by the team and any other requirement that will enhance the performance of the Region

• Responsible for defining and driving implementation of best in class tools and methods to deliver budgeted savings

• Develop a high-performing and motivated indirect procurement team responsible for interfacing with business and supplier partners

• Establish clear performance objectives and monitor its implementation throughout the procurement team

• Ensure that Indirect suppliers are aligned with our cost reduction plan and held accountable for their performance

• Identify opportunities to bundle spend, to take common initiatives, to synergize and consolidate spend across DS entities/sites

• Make sure that Procurement team is systematically challenging agreements and sourcing decisions and executing them in the best interest of the company

• Ensure full compliance, ethical and diligent work within the procurement team

• Responsible for the budget savings achievements for the Region, savings identification and implementation through a robust tracking system.

• Report up-to-date and consistent saving status & forecast

• Cooperatively develops standards and processes to service multiple sites (including manufacturing sites)

• Make sure that Global procurement & business requirements are well-communicated and well-understood

• Acting as the point of accountability for escalation and arbitration for relationship issues and, if all other avenues of vendor management fail, operational problems.

• Engage with Procurement COE & internal stakeholders to ensure proper classification of category spend, and to drive end to end source to pay automation process implementation, automatization of non added value. Contribute to the definition/implemtation of best in class tools

• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, lead critical negotiations together with RSL/GCM when required

• Capture supplier innovation and continuous improvements to drive susatainable cost improvements, and help DS to stay ahead of the market

• Develop the team, providing coaching towards excellence, identify cags and define training plan, act when required, build career plans and ensure follow up, install a winning and performance culture.

• Build relationships and partner closely with key business stakeholders (e.g. Product Management, Finance, R&D, Manufacturing) to understand current and future business requirements, strategy, challenges, opportunities and proactively address them, ensure business and procurement objectives alignement. Represent the Indirect Procurement founction to the Regional Management teams, report and address procurement topics.

Typical Background

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience

• MBA (desired)

• Experience requirement varies on level, generally, 10+ years in Indirect Procurement Management, leading team across countries and/or regions

• Experience developing and managing supplier contracts

• Experience developing and managing multi-cultural teams

• Experience in leading multi-sites & multi-locations teams

Certifications & Licensing:

• CPP, CPM, CPP, SPSM (desired)

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:

• Excellent commercial instincts & business knowledge/acumen

• Strong negotiation skills, expert understanding of contracting terms, conditions, and contracting techniques for managing risk

• Strong analytical & problem-solving capability

• Able to effectively manage/lead virtual teams

• Able to manage multiple projects & priorities

• Deep experience with, multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategies

• A proven track record of delivering distinctive saving results across indirect spend categories

• Ability to go beyond leveraged sourcing to drive differential value from strategic and operational process improvement initiatives

• Works easily in multi Divisions/PG project settings; able to facilitate teamwork across corporate boundaries

• Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, manage, and develop top talent; a recognized thought leader and natural mentor

• Track record of contributing to evolution of procurement processes, and/or continuous improvement of strategic sourcing and category management programs

• Embraces fact‐based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling

• Strong project management skills, including stakeholder, timelines, and meeting management skills

• Skilled at extracting high-value results from external expert resources when/where appropriate

• Demonstrated excellence in managing internal customers; regularly communicates with stakeholders for alignment; well-honed “radar” for situations requiring incremental stakeholder management

• Able to work up, down, and across a large organization; connects at all levels, i.e., operations, management, executives
