Abbott Managing Director, Mainland China & Hong Kong Supply Chain in Shanghai, China

Responsible for implementing strategies to secure and grow sustainable supply to support Abbott’s businesses in Greater China. Direct leadership and accountability for in region planning, purchasing and logistics with dotted line operational interface with in-region operations including quality. Leads the procurement of the right quality, volume and pricing for commodities to sustainably support the manufacture of products and divisional innovation pipeline. The role requires an understanding of global economic, geopolitical, weather and other market factors affecting agricultural commodities and the economic tradeoffs producers and processors in order to successfully contract and negotiate on behalf of Abbott Laboratories

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Drive the retention and growth of sustainable supply for Abbott’s businesses in region

  • Ensure product quality and safety within regulations throughout operations to marketplace

  • Recruit and develop an efficient and capable supply chain management team and build the entire organization

  • Drive regional S&OP and collaborate with Commercial, local and global division and global S&OP. Identify opportunities to improve the network capacity for globally from the region

  • Optimize the accuracy of inventory and warehouse management across the region. Manage distributor network

  • Assure providing effective and efficient logistics solutions to customers

  • Implement supplier relationship management plan to develop, manage and maintain business relationships with suppliers

  • Support new product innovation and development with speed

8.REQUIREMENTS:

  • Industry experiences:

Overall 15 years of experience direct experience managing supply chain, manufacturing, sourcing and/or customer service activities in healthcare or with a FMCG company.

  • Position experiences:

Minimum 7 years management experience of a larger organization.

Minimum 7 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a multi-regional or global function

  • Language Skills: Fluent in Mandarin and English for medical and daily communication

  • Computer Skills: Familiar with Microsoft OS and office APPs

  • Other Special requirement:

  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities with direct applied experience in supply chain roles.

  • Ability to link the critical business needs to supply chain systems and processes needed to achieve accuracy.

  • Ability to take a global perspective with an understanding of the challenges presented by North Asia business environment.

  • Strong leadership skill with the ability to influence.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Experience of working closely with senior management.

  • Ability to undertake business in English and Mandarin both written and spoken.

  • Entrepreneurial with a self-starter mentality.
