OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) is a critical element of our market access strategies to ensure success in an increasingly challenging market environment. Based on the understanding for the local reimbursement/access system and stakeholders mapping, it is critical to understand the decision maker’s requirements (e.g. evidence requirements) to demonstrate the value of J&J’s technology to achieve our market access goals. Within this context, the purpose of this role is to develop and implement market access and reimbursement staregies for J&J Medtech for China, in close partnership with local cross-functional team, including but not limited to Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs & Policy as well as regional/global HEMA team.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Cross Business Unit HEMA strategy development and execution for China. Represent China HEMA needs and voices to various internal and external stakeholders. This includes, but not limited to;

  • Drive China health economics and market access strategy development and execution, which are aligned with Business Unit’s strategies.

o Collaborate with local cross-functional team to optimize the reimbursement/access strategies and execution plan for our technologies.

o Shape external environment to maximize access.

  • Actively monitor evolving Chinese access policy, e.g. DRG payment, Volume Based Procurement, and translate them into actionable deliverables for J&J Medtech China.

  • Shape upstream new product development strategies and global evidence generation strategies to meet China access needs.

o Collaborate with regional and global cross-functional team to shape and influence global development and market access strategies, e.g., Target product profile (TPP), Evidence generation strategy (EGS).

  • Evaluate local evidence generation needs, develop and execute local evidence generation plans in collaboration with regional/global HEMA team.

Develop the best talents for China HEMA team and provide mature leadership across the team.

  • Demonstrate a mature and solutions focused leadership style.

  • Ensures Credo Values are demonstrated in the day to day interactions of the Team.

  • Coach, manage and develop people in the Team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 10 years of healthcare industry experience, with local reimbursement/HTA submission experience in China with MedTech.

  • Proven expertise in developing local market access strategies to drive business.

  • Understanding of health economics, marketing and/or market research, and formation of marketing solutions.

  • Proven ability to identify evidence gaps, design and execute real world evidence generation and dissemination.

  • Proven ability to understand business strategy; translate it into solutions that support the company’s business goals.

  • Ability to manage multiple demands, with a systematic approach to prioritization and organization of resources.

  • Proven leadership ability to effectively motivate cross-functional project teams.

  • Experience working successfully in matrix environments.

  • Track record of working effectively to shape the market and influence key decision makers.

  • Solid understanding of Healthcare market dynamics in China.

Education Required:

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree

  • Master’ Degree in a health sciences-related field prefered (e.g., epidemiology, outcomes research, pharmacy, health policy, medical/biology sciences, health economics, health policy)

  • Proficient language skills in English, both verbal and written.
