Insight Global Lab Technician in Seneca, Illinois

Job Description

Perform all tests available in the laboratory and maintain the equipment and instruments used for those tests

  • ICP, GC, Tritrators, Samples

Perform laboratory testing of raw materials and products

Monitor instrument performance in accordance with REG's Statistical Quality Control (SQC) program

Assist in the evaluation of product nonconformity

Design and conduct laboratory experiments in support of continuous improvement and business development initiatives

Monitor inventory of supplies and lab gases and place orders when necessary to ensure that supplies are always available

Enter and receive Purchase Orders in JD Edwards for ordered supplies

Maintain necessary safety records, including equipment inspections and Safety Data Sheets

Skills and Requirements

Must be onsite in Seneca, IL.

GED or High School Diploma.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio). Experience in automotives, manufacturing plant, or industrial background.

Feedstock canola oil - canola to biodiesel.

Glycerin, fatty acid testing.

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or STEM related field.

Knowledge of oils and fats or other agricultural products and processing.

Knowledge of petroleum industry and products.

Experience with product quality assurance methodologies and troubleshooting (root-cause analysis, statistical quality control, etc.).

Knowledge of laboratory equipment including but not limited to, GCs, ICPs, titrators, distillation equipment, combustion analyzers, density/viscosity analyzers, cold property analyzers, wet chemistry apparatus. null
