Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for all activities related to the procurement of goods and materials and directing the day-to-day activities of the purchasing team. With a strong background in purchasing and supply chain management, the candidate will take a proactive approach in reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations, and implementing changes.

Main Responsibilities

- - Ensuring adherence to company purchasing policies, procedures and all regulatory and compliance programs.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Defining and managing performance metrics (KPIs) for internal team and external suppliers.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Responsible for management and execution of supplier contracts; ensuring buyers award purchase orders based on negotiated prices.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Driving the execution of contracts and pricing agreements as negotiated by the strategic sourcing function.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Defining and implementing inventory strategies to achieve inventory turn targets while maintaining on-time delivery performance.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Identifying opportunities and developing plans to achieve cost reductions.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Responsible for material master updates and other systems maintenance within purchasing.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Providing direction to and managing and developing direct reports.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Responsible for performance management process, including annual review and development plans.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Driving continuous improvement activities to maximize team performance.

{=html} <!-- --> - Developing standard procedures and work instructions, and training team to those standards.

Requirements

Qualifications

- - Ability to complete work assignments accurately and quickly; ability to manage more than one initiative at once.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Bachelors degree in related area, or equivalent experience and training.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Ten years experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management with three years in a supervisory role.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and other computer-based systems

{=html} <!-- --> - APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent training preferred.
