The Role ...


We are seeking a highly motivated individual looking to continue their career in the Logistics field to join our team. You must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excel at meeting tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of organization.


In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating shipments, ensuring timely delivery, and managing and optimizing the flow of goods between warehouses, customers, and vendors.


This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a driven individual to continue learning and growing in their career, while also making an impact on our organization's Supply Chain operations. This is a full-time non-exempt hourly position and is located at our Secaucus, NJ corporate headquarters.


Your Responsibilities ...

  • Assist in Load Planning to create and execute daily outbound shipments to customers from Hartz's 3PL facility in Plainfield, Indiana
  • Ensure pickups are made in a timely manner, carrier trailer pool is maintained, and inbound shipments are delivered on time
  • Assist in the tracing and expediting of shipments
  • Keep Hartz' Logistics team informed of any new or revised issues within the supply chain field
  • Investigate and dispute chargebacks, gather evidence, and file for freight claims
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities
  • Report monthly carrier performance; identify and propose action plans to resolve any service issues
  • Receive and create expense Purchase Orders
  • Support freight accrual, audit, and payment
  • Provide backup assistance in the absence of other team members

You'll Need ...

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience working in distribution, logistics, or supply chain environment, coordinating shipments and tracking delivery status to ensure timely and accurate shipment arrivals
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • System Knowledge: Knowledge of WMS/TMS a plus
  • Data Analysis: Analytical skills for data assessment, trend recognition, and informed decision-making to optimize logistics
  • Problem-Solving: Problem-solving and smart decision-making skills with attention to detail
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to prioritize work effectively
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Prioritization Skills: Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
