Job description  

The Youth Engagement Coordinator works onsite at Foster High School in Tukwila and re-engages students through ABC-focused attendance, behavior, and coursework, emphasizing high school/GED completion, post-secondary education, and/or career paths. This role involves connecting scholars and families to necessary services and providing activities and projects to build self-confidence, cultural identities, histories, and youth leadership. The Youth Engagement Coordinator collaborates with schools to establish strength-based wraparound services that support scholars' success in the school environment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

• 1+ years' experience working with "opportunity" or "at-risk" youth.
• Knowledge of the Seattle Public School system
• Ability to work with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
• Proven ability to build relationships and trust quickly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, when necessary, consistent with the demands of the students and schools.
• Successful candidates must have access to reliable transportation, an essential requirement for this position.
• Punctuality.
• High School Diploma; bachelor's degree in a related or relevant field preferred.
