Enterprise Technology (ET) is seeking an experienced technical writer to join our Organizational Change Management team (OCM). ET is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies. We're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. About the role The Technical Writer will standardize, define, develop, manage, and update product release documentation for Enterprise Technology. Your work will be related to the technical solutions that Enterprise Technology develops and maintains for Blue Origin, including our proprietary manufacturing execution system, Jules. Working closely with our product development and product-managing teams, the Technical Writer will provide comprehensive and accurate information about the new features, functions, and operation, as well as any necessary precautions and procedural instructions. The ideal candidate is experienced in and comfortable with both strategic and tactical work from design to delivery. You will: Plan, design, research, write, and edit a range of documents, including user guides and manuals, technical specifications, and training materials. This role will especially focus on documentation for Jules, Blue's proprietary manufacturing execution system, though the role may be asked to support other ET-managed products and capabilities. Embed within ET technical teams to quickly capture and define technical documentation. Quickly analyze project requirements to determine types of documents needed and build project plans for the delivery of documents. Build tailored messaging for a variety of technical and non-technical audiences, such as: Training materials and how-to guides of new features and functionality, designed for a range of different roles across Blue. Updates and release information, messaged across multiple platforms (wikis, emails, slideware, PDFs, etc.). Reference documentation to help product teams in future resolution of any issues. Join a growing, highly collaborative team that includes a senior technical training lead and an instructional design specialist to jointly analyze end-user needs, recommend approaches, gather content, build and maintain training materials, and devise strategies for engagement and adoption. Work cross-functionally between product development teams, end-user experts, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment to the captured documentation. Drive standardization and improvement activities of existing product documentation, including regularly reviewing and updating for accuracy. Track usage rates and goals. Create, administer, and analyze reporting on end-user progress; recommend and integrate improvement strategies based on findings. Support change management initiatives prioritize outputs that support users through change, meet their needs, and drive adoption. Qualifications 8+ years work experience in technical writing or equivalent role. A background in or experience writing for technology, engineering, or manufacturing industries is highly valued. Hands-on technical writing and editing experience, with specific experience in documenting information technology software and systems. Knowledge of information gathering, planning, and organizing methods and principles. Strong understanding of document formatting and presentation techniques.
