The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking Supply Chain Operations Manager to join our team as a member of our growing and innovative Supply Chain Operations division. In the role, you will provide oversite of multiple supply chain regions and teams. You will be tasked with providing strategic direction and setting goals that align with our organization. You must have a solid understanding of logistics, shipping and receiving, purchasing, asset management, and warehouse operations.

As a leader within the organization, you will be interfacing with multiple lines of business and other leaders within the company. You will be required to ensure that the supply chain is running as efficient as possible and are encouraged to bring new ideas to the table. You must be technologically savvy and be willing to find new and improved processes. Experience managing multiple levels of employees ranging from union labor to management is required. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.

  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.

  • Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factory.

  • Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.

  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.

  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.

  • Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.

  • Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.

  • Negotiates pricing and service agreements with rental companies, equipment manufacturers, and distributors.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field or equivalent professional experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in supply chain management

  • Some experience managing Union Labor (preferred)

  • Some knowledge of the construction industry (preferred)

  • Experience with purchasing and asset acquisitions

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft products required

  • Must possess a strong understanding of LEAN production

  • Experience running financial P/L reports required

  • Knowledge of building, managing and forecasting budgets

  • Experience with building and executing business plans

  • Leads multiple supply chain regions and teams

The pay range for this position is $93,600-$163,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
