We are seeking a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer who blends technical and analytical skills with a proven track record of effective task completion. We value innovative thinkers who thrive on solving complex challenges. You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Champion Amazon Prime Air products and manufacturing processes as the technical lead within the supply chain organization.

  • Lead non-recurring supplier projects from design to production, including on-site support for new product introductions and design/process development.

  • Conduct supplier manufacturing capability assessments and on-site audits to facilitate Prime Air’s supplier selection process.

  • Develop mechanisms to enhance manufacturing performance and efficiency.

  • Manage and coordinate product development and launches between Prime Air and its supplier network.

  • Oversee supplier sustaining activities, including change management, design/process improvements, and root cause analysis.

  • Track and communicate project performance using qualitative and quantitative metrics.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between suppliers, engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.

  • Evaluate, onboard, and oversee suppliers based on quality, capability, capacity.

  • Support supplier manufacturing process development.

  • Develop manufacturing documentation packages for suppliers.

  • Conduct supplier visits to validate processes and products.

  • Coordinate engineering and manufacturing changes with suppliers.

  • Ensure timely delivery for all new product introduction (NPI) builds.

  • Establish performance metrics for yield, quality, and output.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrated experience supporting electronic manufacturing, with specialized expertise in harnesses and motors

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes (CNC machining, IJM, Casting, Forming, 3D Printing, Composite, Finishing, etc.)

  • Proven collaboration with design engineering and suppliers on product development, engineering specs, and new launches

  • Demonstrated background in manufacturing outsourcing and developing suppliers

  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience with Root, Cause, Corrective Action

  • Ability to travel 30% globally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent

  • 7+ years of professional experience in a similar role

  • Experience working in aerospace manufacturing or with highly regulated products

  • Experience working in high rate manufacturing environment supporting new product integration through ramp

  • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies quickly

  • Self-motivated and ability to guide a team to solving ambiguous problems

  • Experience with advanced or non-traditional high-rate mechanical manufacturing processes is preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
