Amazon Sr Financial Analyst, Marketing and Traffic in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon seeks a Sr Financial Analyst to join the Global Marketing and Traffic team. We are responsible for managing a portfolio of marketing investments across a diverse set of channels which are used to drive customers, new and existing, to the Amazon store. We measure and track these investments with the aim of optimizing long term free cash flow.

The Sr Financial Analyst will partner with multiple leaders across the Search Engine Optimization, Social Media, and email/push notification channels to provide strategic guidance and thought leadership for short and long-range investment decisions, build mechanisms and tools to surface key analytical insights, dive deep into large sets of data, prioritize and deliver projects that aim to continuously improve our scale and efficiency, and manage the controllership of a significant spend portfolio. This role requires a self-starter with business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, a track record of influencing business partners with data-driven decision making, and the ability to move fast. Communication and collaboration are key, as the individual must interact with members across product, marketing, tech, finance and various leadership teams.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive investment strategy discussions via insightful and relevant analysis on historical and projected performance

  • Manage controllership with a high degree of accuracy across planning and reporting

  • Lead Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews

  • Partner with Senior leadership to evaluate the financial impact of decisions

  • Be a steward for maximizing long term free cash flow of investments

  • Partner with various business and tech teams to become a subject matter expert on systems and outcomes

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
