Description
We are seeking an experienced storyteller to lead strategic internal communications initiatives that showcase Amazon’s community engagement and social impact efforts to corporate employees. The Sr. Editor for Community Impact combines strategic leadership, content and channel expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to drive meaningful communications that resonate with both internal and external stakeholders. This role, part of the Internal Corporate Communications team within CCR, combines deep channel marketing expertise with the ability to craft compelling content for various internal platforms including short and long form articles, social media (Inside Amazon), blog posts, videos, or even presentations, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and marketing objectives.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong communication skills, demonstrated leadership ability, and a passion for community impact. They should be comfortable managing complex initiatives, analyzing data, experimenting with new or never done before tactics and driving results through influence and collaboration.
Key job responsibilities
Storyteller Expertise
•Strong Writing Skills: Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging copy
•Creative Thinking: Generating original ideas and concepts for storytelling across diverse platforms up to and including in-person events
•Communication Skills: Effectively conveying messages verbally and in writing
•Analytical Skills: Understanding audience behavior and tailoring stories accordingly
•Adaptability: Ability to work across various platforms and formats
•Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with content management systems and digital storytelling tools
Strategic Leadership & Digital Content Strategy
• Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for complex business initiatives
• Create integrated digital content strategies aligned with organizational objectives
• Lead strategic decision-making processes, balancing short-term needs with long-term value
• Drive clarity around complex initiatives and establish measurable success criteria
• Shape cross-functional roadmaps and influence investment priorities
Content Development & Management
• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of marketing initiatives across multiple digital channels and physical locations through experiential marketing – knowing how to scale with limited resources
• Create compelling, high-quality content for internal sites, social media, and email campaigns
• Establish and maintain content governance frameworks and editorial guidelines
• Lead regular content audits and optimization efforts
• Implement and maintain SEO best practices across digital properties
• Pioneer innovative approaches to content creation and measurement
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across multiple organizations
• Serves as the single threaded leader from ICC to Amazon Community Impact, Sustainability and key partners across Amazon and within Communications and Corporate Responsibility to build a One Amazon approach.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders
• Mentor and develop team members
• Present to and influence director-level stakeholders
Analytics & Performance Optimization
• Define and track KPIs that demonstrate business impact in partnership with the Data and Analytics team
• Analyze user engagement and content performance metrics
• Create frameworks for continuous improvement
• Drive data-informed decision making across content initiatives
• Develop and optimize measurement methodologies
Basic Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
6+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or journalism
Proven success in content strategy development and execution
Experience with content management systems and digital optimization
Strong knowledge of SEO best practices
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional programs across multiple time zones
Experience influencing partner teams' roadmaps and priorities
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
Team management and mentoring experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field
Experience in community impact or corporate social responsibility
Proven track record in digital content campaign execution
Expertise in content analytics tools
Experience influencing director-level stakeholders
Strong project management skills
Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
