Secure Delivery is a solution that prevents bad actors from stealing packages and ensures successful delivery experiences for customers. Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer on Secure Delivery, you will design, develop, and own scalable solutions that empower Amazon to provide the best delivery experience for customers.
Your work will range from building new systems that serve billions of requests at lightning speed, to working across teams to build complex integrations with Tier-1 Amazon systems and advanced science models. Through your contributions, you’ll tackle complex technical challenges, create innovative solutions with a direct impact on customer trust, and work on systems that are critical to Amazon’s operational excellence.

About the team
Secure Delivery safeguards millions of Amazon deliveries. We build and maintain systems that identify delivery risks in real-time and automatically implement protective measures. Operating at the intersection of multiple teams, we leverage machine learning and customer insights to prevent package theft across Amazon's global network. We continuously evolve our software to enable trust in Amazon's delivery experience, while maintaining the speed and reliability customers expect.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or 4+ years of building production software experience
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
3+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
Experience with building scalable distributed systems.
Solid understanding and work experience with building applications using AWS Services
Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
Ability to communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.
Ability to handle changing priorities and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
