ManpowerGroup Software Dev Engineer II in Seattle, Washington

Job Title: Software Development Engineer II

Location: Hybrid, Seattle WA (3 days on site – Tues-Thurs preferred for onsite)

Duration: 5 Months contract with possibility of extension

Pay Rate: $57.73/hr.

Our client is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our team of engineers in designing, building, and implementing features to support services in production. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong technical, research, and analytical skills, coupled with a proven ability to deliver results efficiently. Experience in developing cloud services and developer tools is crucial, and familiarity with AWS tools and services is highly desirable. The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with a team of top-notch developers and work closely with our research teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing features to enhance service functionality.

  • Implementing Operational Excellence practices to ensure system reliability and efficiency.

  • Improving systems for gathering metrics on feature performance.

Top Required Skills:

Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Adaptability: Capability to adjust to new information and changing requirements, particularly in Weather Systems.

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in object-oriented software design and development on AWS Lambda and IOT platforms.

  • Proficiency in full software development life cycle practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing.

  • Strong skills in Python and Java, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in each language.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with MQTT protocols is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
