As a Liquid Systems Manager on Lunar Transportation, you will report to the Fluids and Propulsion Team Manager and directly support program execution. The products developed provide Lunar Transportation lander vehicles with Fluids and Propulsion products to enable unprecedented crew and mass to surface capabilities. This position will support all aspects of product and team management to include accountability and oversight of schedule, risk management, and personnel management of a team responsible for hardware design, development, specification, and vendor technical management. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and attention towards safe and reliable spaceflight. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Responsibilities: Responsible for leading a technical team to deliver a high-performance liquid propulsion system by developing liquid propellant management subsystems (transfer, storage, gauging, conditioning, delivery) along with integrating engines Accountable for definition, specification, and development of hardware (in house make and external buy) to meet mission objectives and satisfy requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and risk Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team Manage your direct reports' professional development (e.g., coaching, routine one-on-one development conversations, performance reviews, and promotion management) Develop robust plans meeting deliverables and manage to the key operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk Develop product roadmaps, including development and incorporation of technologies to meet future mission requirements Work with internal and external customers to understand and shape stakeholder current and future mission needs Perform technical work and provide technical leadership of the highest caliber Monitor technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule, deliverables and risks as well as review recommendations for change with program management Communicate progress to leadership team via; program management reviews weekly/monthly, finance reviews, long term forecasting business plan, and project deep dives Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the most efficient and effective product is designed, manufactured, procured, tested, qualified, and delivered Qualifications: 5+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for leading and coaching employees 10+ years directly related experience In depth understanding of fluids and mechanical engineering principles Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Excellent written and oral communication skills Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or similar Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: Experience with cryogenic fluid systems, two phase fluid management Experience managing subcontracts Solid systems engineering fundamentals (experience with requirements, interface management, integration, conducting desi
