Prime Air is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to lead Program Management for Engineering teams across the Drone Hardware and Software, Airspace Management Software, and Flight Sciences teams. In this role, you will be responsible for program management in Prime Air’s engineering and science teams that are critical in developing future drone and system design. This role requires excellent leadership skills to build trust and drive alignment.

The desired candidate will have an engineering background, have demonstrated experience in program management roles for large-scale development efforts, and be able to operate in ambiguous and technically complex spaces. You will be responsible for driving cross-functional Program Managers, Technical Program Managers, Engineering Leaders, Product Managers, and Engineers to deliver on complex schedules to ensure we meet program milestones. You are an effective written and verbal communicator and adept at communicating to executives and technical experts. You are relentlessly organized and can juggle competing priorities across a complex organization.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own and drive program management mechanisms to ensure Engineering delivers to the Prime Air Program-level plan

  • Remove blockers to help engineering teams move faster and implement opportunities to accelerate development on the critical path

  • Own and drive program status, scheduling, documentation, and metrics.

  • Drive resolution of risks, blockers, and schedule disconnects to executive and technical stakeholders

  • Work with other Program Managers and Technical Program Managers across Engineering to create, implement, and drive mechanisms that improve execution and communication.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience working on aerospace products / projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • MBA, or Master's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
