Job Details Job Location Seattle Office - Seattle, WA Position Type Full-Time Education Level Graduate Degree   Salary Range $967,258.00 - $145,092.00 Salary Job Category Consultant Description Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is looking for a Senior Archaeologist in the Seattle area with 10-20+ years of experience performing cultural resources monitoring, surveys, testing and data recovery, recordation of archaeological and historic architectural resources, and preparing environmental permit applications and supporting documentation. Who You Are You are a highly qualified and experienced senior-level Archaeologist with 10-20+ years of experience in relevant scientific or environmental consulting environments. You can lead multi-faceted cultural resource-related evaluations, research, and analyses for a growing group of cultural resource specialists within our Northwest Cultural Resources Group. You have excellent field, writing, time/budget management, and organizational capabilities; agency coordination and client service experience; proficiency in the management of archaeological and tribal cultural resources within the context of SEPA, experience with leading archaeological survey and testing projects, documentation, evaluation, and treatment of prehistoric and historic-period archaeological resources; and experience preparing EIS, and MND sections and developing mitigation. You hold a graduate degree in archaeology or a closely related field. You possess the ability to lead survey crews and produce well-written and technically supported cultural resource documents. You work collaboratively with clients and interdisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget in a fast-paced work environment. You have excellent organizational and strong problem-solving skills. You meet the Secretary of Interior Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology, Architectural History, or History. You demonstrate a clear understanding of project management principles and practices and be responsible for the delivery of high-quality work products. You have the ability and desire to mentor junior staff members. You are confident working outside, in remote and rural settings, as well as in urban environments. Physical outdoor work may include, but may not be limited to, extensive field work and site visits in all types of weather, traversing uneven ground and sometimes steep terrain in forested environments, fields, arid lands, along stream banks, and in coastal/intertidal areas. You may be exposed to inclement weather and uncomfortable working conditions. What You Will Do for ESA You will manage and carry out archaeological research surveys and technical document preparation on a wide range of interesting projects throughout the region and practice and will be part of an interdisciplinary team that includes staff from our Biological, Energy, Community Development, Transportation, Water, and Airports practices. You will manage and conduct archival research, archaeological resources assessments, development of historic and cultural contexts, archaeological survey and resource documentation, resource evaluations, and impacts analysis meeting SEPA, and other requirements. This will include collaborating with architectural historians, historians, and other specialists to incorporate work products into technical reports.
