$10,000 Sign-On Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our outpatient Center for Pain Relief , located at our Roosevelt Clinic.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 4x10 shift schedule or 5x8 shift schedule

  • Day shifts only

  • Monday-Friday. The exact days worked may vary each week.

  • Our clinic is closed on nights, weekends, and holidays DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Center for Pain Relief is a state-of-the-art outpatient clinic that provides comprehensive pain evaluations and inter-professional treatment services for patients with difficult to treat and complex persistent pain. We provide individualized, holistic, and patient-centered care through an inter-professional approach. Our teams work together to provide customized pain diagnosis and treatment.Services offered at our clinic include:

  • Comprehensive evaluation of pain and its possible sources

  • Prevention of pain through conservative management and interventional procedures that target long-term relief

  • Patient education and counseling about lifestyle changes that can help manage the pain

  • Image-guided minimally invasive procedures for diagnosis and treatment

  • Collaborative nursing pain care support PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works in close partnership with a team of Anesthesiologists, Medical Doctors, and Advanced Practice Providers

  • Provides care to patients undergoing interventional pain procedures, including intra-procedure moderate sedation

  • Monitors patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure

  • Responds to emergencies and complications in the procedural suite

  • Performs wound care and complex dressing changes

  • Uses and maintains procedural equipment

  • Educates patients and their families on home care and follow-up care

  • Assists with patient admissions, phone triage, and record keeping REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of recent ICU, procedural, or complex medical-surgical nursing experience

  • BLS Certification

  • ACLS Certification (required within 6 months of hire)

  • Conscious Sedation Certification (required within 6 months of hire)

  • Strong IV skills
