TEKsystems Proofreader/Copyeditor in Seattle, Washington

Our client is looking for a copyeditor for a 7 month contract. They want to see a online portfolio with at least five samples that show-off a variety of different types of projects.

Top Skills:

  1. 4-6+ years of proofreading and copy-editing experience at an agency and/or in-house

  2. Experience partnering with the copywriters, creative leads, designers, and project managers to make sure copy is accurate between versions, adheres to brand guidelines, and has no grammatical errors

  3. A flexible, team-oriented attitude and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines

  4. Experience editing a wide range of copy, from packaging, web copy, videos, ads, emails and pitch decks.

Description:

Our client in the hardware tech space, is looking for a copy editor/proofreader to help their marketing team. You’ll help our copy lead with a set of eagle eyes for mistakes, typos, inconsistencies, and with your ability to tighten up copy whenever needed. There also could be occasional writing projects if that’s of interest. As an in-house marketing team, they are creating packaging, web copy, videos, ads, emails, pitch decks and everything else, and it all needs to be perfect before it goes in front of anyone. Your role on the team will be to work with creative leads, the copy team, project managers, and designers to help us launch multiple products throughout the year.

What you'll do:

• Partner with the copywriters, creative leads, designers, and project managers to make sure copy is accurate between versions, adheres to our brand guidelines, and has no grammatical errors.

• Collaborate with the copy lead to maintain our high standards across all projects.

• Be confident in articulating editing/grammar decisions to a variety of different partners and stakeholders.

• Manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously.

• Manage project schedules and deadlines to a professional standard.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• 4-6+ years of proofreading and copy-editing experience at an agency and/or in-house.

• The ability to quickly gain a deep understanding of our brand guidelines and help maintain them.

• Excellent communication, writing, editing skills.

• A flexible, team-oriented attitude and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

• A portfolio with at least five samples that show-off a variety of different types of projects.

Interaction with team/Day to Day:

• We use Asana as our Program Management Software

• Sign into Asana tool or Do a kick off

• Collaborate with designers and product marketing team to ensure we write against the strategy and the application

• Do reviews with internal and stake holders and legal team

• Teams meeting make sure prioritize work correctly and ask questions

• Proof reading

• Copy editing
