Amazon Principal Business Development Tech, Vehicle Sales in Seattle, Washington

Description

An entirely new shopping category on Amazon is seeking a Principal Business Dev tech business analyst to build the data analytics to support and grow this new category. This is a building role – you will start as an individual contributor to define the strategy and build initial analytics capabilities. There may be the opportunity to hire a team, according to the strategy and the evolving needs of the business. You will report to the Director of Business Development and Seller Experience and work hand-in-hand to define growth strategies for the business and analyze key performance indicators for both sellers and the business. Our organization is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of innovators: engineers, product managers, UX designers, and operations personnel engaged in a mission to revolutionize an industry. You will interface with all business functions in this role, and your contributions will be critical to the success of the new business.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of dealing with ambiguity and building data analytics strategies to grow an emerging business, while working with internal partner teams and external stakeholders. You must have hands-on data analysis skills but also be adept at developing a strategy for what data to gather and how to use it. You operate with agility and scrappiness in solving new and complex programs. You have the experience and ability to set common goals and rally alignment across a large number of stakeholders, both internal and external. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

A day in the life

This role will play a critical part in scaling this new business. You will identify potential data sets to help us define and prioritize our scaling strategy. You will use data to help us evaluate the best potential sellers in this new category and then to analyze and track their performance. An ideal candidate is analytical, autonomous, and cross-functionally collaborative with effective communication skills.

About the team

We are a newly formed team with a vision to create innovative discovery and shopping experiences in the new vehicles category on Amazon, providing customers better convenience and more selection. We’re collaborating with other experienced teams at Amazon to define the future of how customers research and shop for products in the complex automotive space.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience solving high-impact problems for complex businesses

  • B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science

  • Proven analytical ability using complex data sets to make informed strategic decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in a technical field or MBA

  • Experience in the Automotive industry

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
