Amazon PR Specialist, Sustainability in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent, high-judgement, and self-motivated PR professional to join our Global Sustainability PR team. This individual will be responsible for supporting and executing against PR plans and strategy in support of Amazon’s carbon free energy progress as well as its work with Artificial Intelligence within sustainability. Specifically, this person will focus on supporting the team through proactive storytelling, media relations, coordination between internal Amazon PR teams and more—this will include writing talking points, messaging and/or blog posts, providing day-to-day support to teams, and thinking big on cross-Amazon collaboration. This person should be able to work autonomously as well as with a team, coordinating with various internal stakeholders and partners around the world. This individual should be able to move fast with high standards, be a self-starter, detail oriented, have the ability to dive deep on complex topics and actively look around corners.

Key job responsibilities

• Support and execute strategic public relations programs and ongoing storytelling.

• Work closely with Amazon’s Sustainability team and global PR teams around the world.

• Develop relationships with national business, tech, consumer, and sustainability focused press to generate accurate and positive coverage.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in professional communications or public relations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $61,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
