USNC Payroll Specialist in Seattle, Washington

DESCRIPTION:

Ultra Safe Nuclear is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to oversee the accurate processing and timely disbursement of payroll transactions across multiple entities within our organization. Utilizing ADP, the Payroll Specialist will meticulously manage semi-monthly payrolls while ensuring compliance with federal and multi-state payroll regulations, including compensation and benefits. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Payroll Specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless payroll operations. Additionally, this position will be instrumental in the implementation of system changes and upgrades, necessitating a strong understanding of complex computer systems and proficiency in PC office software such as Excel and Word.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately process monthly payroll and benefits across multiple states for our domestic subsidiaries.

  • Review and resolve payroll discrepancies and/or employee questions and help prevent future issues from arising.

  • Respond to garnishment and unemployment payroll requests.

  • Keep informed of changes to employment and payroll laws and regulations and communicate requirements to management.

  • Assist with projects, audits, reports, and conduct research and provide details as needed by management.

  • Ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping and management of payroll data in a confidential manner.

  • Work with accounting/finance to provide required payroll information as needed for external financial auditors and third-party tax preparers.

  • Manage federal, state, and local regulatory reporting requirements with a third-party payroll provider.

  • Work with a third-party payroll provider to ensure all federal, state, and local registrations are completed timely and accurately.

  • Research, respond, and resolve all regulatory notices received from federal and state agencies.

  • Work directly with the HR department to maintain efficient new hire onboarding process including verifying initial benefits and salary inputs into each respective system.

  • Participate in month-end close process as it relates to payroll: job cost, benefit reconciliation, PTO accruals, and reconciliation.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, business, finance, or related field.

  • Proficiency in excel, knowledge in ADP or similar type platform (other desired software SharePoint, Smartsheet, QuickBooks) detailed oriented, able to manage multiple projects, with excellent time management skills and work independently and, assist in developing and communicating new processes and procedures, providing leadership with recommendations.
