Our client, a well-established, medium-sized company, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist to join their collaborative accounting team. Job Summary: The Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, managing accounts payable functions, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Payroll: * Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, including salary, benefits, bonuses, and deductions. * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws. * Maintain employee payroll records and handle updates related to new hires, terminations, and changes in benefits or compensation. * Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies promptly. * Prepare and distribute W-2s and other required payroll documents. Accounts Payable: * Review, code, and process vendor invoices and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner. * Manage vendor relationships, including setting up new accounts and responding to payment inquiries. * Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted. * Prepare and process payment runs (checks, ACH, or wire transfers). * Assist in month-end closing by providing accounts payable reports and reconciliations. General: * Maintain accurate and organized financial records. * Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy. * Collaborate with other departments to support company-wide initiatives. * Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: * Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable roles. * Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity). * Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and accounts payable processes. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
