Your Opportunity

As a Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training you will have the opportunity to work on engineering and geotechnical projects in a multi-discipline project team environment. Working in one of our Oregon or Washington offices where many of Stantec’s design projects take place, in this role the candidate will have the opportunity to exercise their technical and interpersonal skills while growing in their career.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will work with a team of engineers and technologists/technicians performing general geotechnical responsibilities in the field and office.

  • Conducting materials testing and inspection services during construction

  • Assisting senior staff with the completion of geotechnical investigations which will include both field and office-based work

  • Developing technical skills by assisting the senior staff with various geotechnical analyses

  • Assisting senior staff with the preparation of technical proposals and reports

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, excel under minimal supervision, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.

  • US EIT Registration

Education and Experience

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university.

Ideal candidate will have a Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering and a minimum 2 years of experience in as an EIT in geotechnical engineering, including site investigations, design of deep and shallow foundations, slope stability and on-site review of construction activities, and geotechnical laboratory testing is required.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $36 Per Hour - $62 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA and DC

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

  • Washington state employees are eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked except for Seattle employees who accrue sick leave in accordance with the city’s paid sick leave law.

The benefits information listed above may not apply to union positions because benefits for such positions are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreements.
