HYBRID (REMOTE ONE DAY A WEEK - ACCORDING TO BUSINESS NEEDS) POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Provides high level support to a team of laboratory genetic counselors and variant review scientists, within the Clinical Genomic Analyst Team
Gain first-hand knowledge of patient care and research related to one or more of these genetics and genomics specialties: targeted gene panels, exome/genome sequencing, cytogenetics and genomics related to prenatal, pediatric and adult-onset conditions, and hereditary and solid tumor cancers DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Clinical Genomic Analyst team provides technical assistance to ordering providers, triage orders, prepares cases for sign out, reviews data, drafts and reviews next generation sequencing and cytogenetic/genomic testing reports for germline and somatic tests performed by the laboratory. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the Clinical Genomic Analyst team in clinical, research, and administrative duties
Prepare cases with clinical information critical for interpretation of research and clinical genetic studies
Helps the Clinical Genomic Analyst Team develop and implement clinical ordering pathways, assist with review of clinical reports, client communication
Coordinates data collection efforts for clinical orders or research studies
Perform chart review in EPIC electronic medical record, case tracker and/or other internal databases to accomplish multiple tasks
Independently coordinate sending out Sample Kits to patient’s homes, manage customized Saliva Kits, including tracking requests, following up on outstanding kits and managing internal inventory of sample collection kits and shipping supplies
Manage the timely transfer and hand-off of paperwork between various teams including the clinical genomic analyst team, directors, and lab teams
Review insurance denials and assist with preparing letters of medical necessity as needed
Assist members of the clinical genomics analysis team in other clinical and research-related tasks as neededSuccessful candidates will have laboratory experience in a genetics related field. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Science or other related fields
3 years of HIPAA, study support and/or coordination; collecting and/or coordinating data
OR an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
