Our teams continue to innovate our concepts, assort the most highly rated products and build experiences our customers love.The Opportunity: We are looking for a Financial Analyst to serve as the finance owner for critical components of our financial planning and reporting activities. The analyst will also collaborate with business and field teams to improve reporting accuracy, automation of various planning activities, and ad-hoc analyses for all levels of SRS operations. The analyst will build metrics and tools necessary to more deeply understand business drivers, inputs, and outputs. From these metrics, the analyst will perform deep dive analysis to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong business judgement, be comfortable with complicated datasets, and help proactively anticipate business needs. They will both generate insights to influence business decisions and assist in establishing processes that will scale as the business grows in size and complexity.Team exposure: This role partners closely with multiple business and finance teams across the company, including other Physical Stores finance teams to share learnings, best practices, and implement solutions that work across businesses. It will also have exposure to senior finance leaders, senior business leaders and stores FP&A.Key job responsibilities* Management and automation of recurring reporting* Manage headcount planning and reporting* Assisting with Month End Close (MEC) responsibilities* Drive in-year HC planning exercises* Driving in-depth analysis to understand financial trends* Managing reporting processes on financial and operational performance metrics including coordinating inputs from multiple finance teamsAbout the teamWe own the P&L for Amazon Bookstores, 4-Star Stores, and Pop-ups, which are all in a period of high growth.We fit into a larger SRS Finance org and function as a hub for all things happening in the SRS business. We consolidate and inform other teams' forecasts, insights, and commentary.We play an important role and have the possibility to greatly expand our scope (both team and individual) as we find efficiencies in automation and migration of our core focus, which is the SRS P&L.* 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.* BA/BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or similar discipline with analytical bias* At least basic knowledge of manipulating SQL queries (experience writing from scratch a plus)* 3+ years' relevant experience in positions that require analysis, reporting financial results, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of business impact and results* 2+ years' experience performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools* MBA + relevant experience* Previous experience in FP&A* Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis combined with proven ability to communicate those analysis* Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase and/or Cognos) and other financial systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)* Must be able to prioritize multiple competing priorities from a diverse group of senior stakeholders* Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
