UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a PART-TIME ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH (EKG) TECHNICIAN. WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Opportunity to provide career growth DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

  • Our services include general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates and troubleshoots EKG equipment to obtain resting electrocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients

  • Recognizes and troubleshoots patient or electrical artifact on EKG’s, prepare and instruct patients for holter and event monitoring, and analyzes the holter monitor data and create reports for physician interpretation

  • Provide training to nursing and medical staff outside of the department in the routine use of the EKG equipment

  • Maintains laboratory supplies, completion of daily paperwork and assists patients in the UW Heart Institute

  • Perform other duties as required REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience as an ECG Technician I AND certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation AND certified by the National Alliance of Cardiovascular Technologists OR certified within one year from date of hireOR
