The Seattle Times Content Producer in Seattle, Washington

The Seattle Times, a family-owned news organization and one of the nation’s premier regional news sources, is seeking a Content Producer to join our Advertising team. The Content Producer is a dynamic, multi-faceted role that combines editorial and design expertise to create compelling branded content and interactive experiences for The Seattle Times Content Studio (https://contentstudio.seattletimes.com/) . This position is responsible for branded content production, interactive design, video production support, and The Ticket’s content and promotions. The ideal candidate has a blend of content creation, visual design, and organizational skills, with a collaborative spirit to work seamlessly with clients, internal teams, and freelancers. The role oversees multiple aspects of campaigns across various work groups and ensures the successful execution of projects.

 

Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management:

  • Write 1-3 branded content articles per month and provide additional support for Content Studio projects, including social content, blog posts, and other materials.

  • Manage the production flow of all content, ensuring drafts, edits, and approvals are tracked and deadlines are consistently met.

  • Curate and produce content for The Ticket, collaborating with internal teams and freelancers to deliver fresh, engaging material on a regular schedule.

  • Develop and manage organic social media calendars to promote The Ticket content across social platforms, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.

    Interactive Design

  • Create engaging, interactive experiences using Vev (interactive design software).

  • Collaborate with internal and freelance designers to ensure designs meet quality and branding standards.

  • Ideate and execute visually compelling branded content concepts in collaboration with clients.

    Video Production

  • Provide detailed quotes for video production services to the internal team or client, assist with on-set production tasks as needed, and track project expenses to ensure adherence to budget.

  • Ensure video production projects are on time and within budget.

  • Partner with video production teams to support branded social video creation, including occasional hosting.

    Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with Agency Services Account Managers and Coordinators to track project progress and maintain clear communication.

  • Provide editorial insights during client meetings and story onboarding sessions.

  • Assign projects to freelancers and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

    Analytics and Optimization:

  • Track and analyze branded content performance, providing insights to improve future projects.

  • Maintain detailed notes and status updates in project management tools (e.g., Basecamp).

    Please note that this job focuses on Sponsored Article Content for Print and Digital placemenets. This is not a Video Content Producer role.

     

    Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in content creation, editing, or interactive design.

  • Proficiency in Vev, WordPress, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.

  • Familiarity with SEO, social media best practices, and digital analytics tools.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in interactive design and video production coordination.

  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and design.

  • Team-oriented, collaborative approach to problem-solving.

  • Adaptable and resilient under tight deadlines.

     

    Schedule : This is a hybrid position currently requiring 1-2 days in-office per week. Candidates must reside in the Puget Sound area or Washington State.

     

    Compensation: The full salary range for this position is $55,200 to $75,900. We typically pay between $55,200 to $69,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
