Amazon AWS Sr. Financial Analyst, AWS Central FP&A Team in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Sr. Financial Analyst to join the Central FP&A team. The successful candidate will provide cross functional leadership across multiple teams and initiatives, and drive the overall Capex reporting. This role will drive strategic initiatives to improve the quality and timelines of business insights provided to AWS and Amazon leadership, including ongoing efforts around existing process improvements.

We are looking for a consummate Finance leader who can thrive in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment, and who exercises high standards and good judgment. The successful candidate has strong leadership skills and business acumen and is comfortable at influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key job responsibilities

• Liaise across the AWS finance community to drive core financial processes including annual operating plans, monthly/quarterly business reviews and assessment of risks/opportunities, and month-end close.

• Collaborate with teams to simplify, standardize, and automate consolidated financials reporting processes and analytics.

• Communicate financial metrics and business drivers to AWS and Amazon teams.

• Closely cooperate with the corporate finance team to report AWS financials.

• Ensure compliance with finance and accounting controls and systems.

• Lead and manage special projects, working cross-functionally with various AWS finance and business teams.

• Foster constructive and proactive communication across organizational boundaries.

About the team

This role is part of the AWS Central FP&A team. We support AWS leaders and finance teams by coordinating and consolidating deliverables, centralizing and standardizing processes, establishing financial controls and mechanisms, building tools that improve the speed of decision making, and providing insightful financial analysis on the short and long term strategy of AWS.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
