This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will manage a group of engineers in charge of engineering solutions, designing, and creating installation designs for electrical harnesses for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the avionics overall strategy. As an Avionics Cable Harness Sr Manager, you will be responsible for Managing the design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal, the selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire. Also, you will manage the strategy for the application of EMI/RFI and harness shielding, creation of 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling and internal developed tools. You will also manage the creation of harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data sets. The design and integration of harness support brackets, support design configuration development and trade studies, provide technical guidance for hardware installation. Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses and maintain and report on activity schedule and technical status and find opportunities for improvements and operational cost and schedule savings. You will coordinate and manage the plan and schedules related to harness drawing and installation drawing releases and its correct execution. You will be expected to mentor and guide less experience members of your team and you will be in charge of providing performance reviews and support to individual development plans. You will also maintain the team's good spirit and focus. You will drive the necessary updates/changes to our designs, tools and processes in order to become better, more productive, more efficient and reduce cost We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Qualifications: B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field 7+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry 3+ years of experience leading teams or as main focal for specific projects Experience with Creo and Windchill Understanding and application of wire derating analysis Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4 Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
