Providence St. Joseph Health Anesthesia Technician in Seattle, Washington

Description This position is responsible for assisting the Anesthesiologist in all departments and with all anesthesia procedures, including expediting patient flow through the perioperative area, maintaining patient safety, developing and maintaining external (patient, surgeon) and internal (Anesthesiologist, staff) customer satisfaction. Responsible for set up, operation and some maintenance of specialized equipment, including life support. This position also assists the Anesthesiologist with evaluation and monitoring of the patients during the perioperative phase. Assists in sterile or isolation areas. Participates in "call" rotation for continuous Perioperative Support Technologists (PST) at night, on weekends, and holidays. Perioperative Support Technologists must be ready to participate in call schedule in 6 months or less. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training: Secondary education in a medical or science based discipline. Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification within 90 days of hire. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. Preferred Qualifications: Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited program i.e. EMT, Paramedic, RT, or Anesthesia Technology (AT) program. ACLS Provider - American Heart Association upon hire. PALS Provider - American Heart Association upon hire. Anesthesia Technician certification (ASATT) upon hire. 1 year of experience working in a similar capacity in an Anesthesia Department in a tertiary healthcare facility. Why Join Providence?
