The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager, Disbursements to join our growing team! In this role, you will manage the Accounts Payable operation(s) and team over centralized company Disbursements, Corporate Card programs, and 1099 reporting, ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency within the organization.

Essential job functions:

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy to increase vendor spend and optimize working capital, aligning with organizational objectives and financial targets.

  • Establish annual/monthly Virtual Card spend targets and goals, both short-term and long-term, with measurable KPIs to track progress tied to the annual rebate program.

  • Develop and maintain accurate cash flow projections based on open payables and other financial obligations.

  • Evaluate payment methods and terms to optimize cash management and minimize costs while maintaining positive vendor relationships.

  • Negotiate payment terms with vendors and suppliers to leverage discounts and improve cash flow efficiency.

  • Analyze historical data and current trends to forecast future cash flow needs and identify potential liquidity challenges

  • Lead payment optimization strategies, such as dynamic discounting, supply chain financing, or early payment programs, to accelerate cash flow and improve working capital efficiency.

  • Work closely with finance and procurement teams to streamline payment processes and leverage technology solutions for automated payments and invoice processing.

  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to incorporate cash requirements and strategic solutions.

  • Lead efforts in overseeing the management of employee reimbursements & Corporate Pcards using a third-party SaaS solution.

  • Utilize data analytics tools and technologies to gain insights into spending patterns, identify opportunities for cost reduction or process efficiency, and inform decision-making.

AP Vendor Master & 1099 Reporting

  • Responsible for the overall management of vendor information activities and requirements within ERP accounting system.

  • Responsible for Annual 1099-INT, MISC & NEC filings

  • Identify and work with Vendors related to payment terms, method and required documentation from Vendor to establish new accounts.

  • Perform general system maintenance and weekly/monthly audits of both systems to Perform other duties as assigned.

People

  • Provide effective leadership to the AP team, setting clear expectations, goals, and objectives. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and professional development.

  • Responsible for employee performance evaluations, goals, training and development opportunities to support the professional growth of team members.

  • Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the AP department by soliciting feedback from team members, identifying opportunities for process optimization, and implementing best practices to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

  • Creates performance plans, assesses performance and provides performance feedback.

  • Maintains and creates departmental processes and documented operational procedures.

  • Ensures team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development. Carry out other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred, advanced skills in Excel required.

  • Fosters effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including finance, procurement, vendors, and other departments. Keep stakeholders informed of AP-related activities, initiatives, and performance metrics.

  • Experience working with large-scale ERP (tier 1 or 2) systems required.

  • Experience directly supervising procure to pay team, under a paperless processing environment, workflow, electronic invoice or transaction import experience, creation of import templates and formatting.

  • Prior experience with third-party solutions such as Concur, Expense Wire or similar solutions is highly preferred.

  • Proven ability to prioritize daily production work based on the overall business need.

  • Prior 1099, Vendor Setup & strong understanding of IRG guidelines (T&E and 1099) required.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements governing accounts payable processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience required.

  • Seven (7) years of accounting experience preferred.

  • Three to five (3 to 5) years of prior AP people management leading a team of 3+ experience required.

The pay range for this position is $72,090 - $119,300 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
